Hi Maddie,
Of course, it may be scary for an individual who is starting out, but everyone will be so welcoming and I am sure they will take the time to explain the positions etc. to you. To get a head start you can check out our player roles section and also our fundamentals section. Within player roles, you will be able to take your time and go through each of the positions, where they are allowed and their main role. Our fundamentals section will also help you understand the basics in netball and how to perfect these skills - from footwork to passing to going for an interception.
It is great that you are new to netball, you have an exciting journey ahead of you. My top tip would simply be to not be afraid to ask questions!! Take in as much knowledge as you can and if you make a mistake, don't worry about it, even those elite make mistakes, its normal.
