5 players start in a 5x5m grid and can pass the ball to one another in any direction.
Once the coach blows the whistle they explode with speed down the channel.
The aim is to firstly not run into an agility pole, and secondly to pass to a player in support while attacking down the channel.
Once a player has made a pass, he must get in behind the ball and support once again.
Try and position yourself on the side of the channel, so that you can see the depth and positioning of the players. You are looking to create around 3 layers of attack, if it be 1-2-2 or 1-3-1 , as long as there is sufficent spacing for the ball carrier not to feel crowded!
Support with depth
The coach can progress the drill by instrcuting the player to score a try instead of passing the ball, thus the players need to pick up the ball instead of catching and passing it. This forces players to be even deeper in support as the pickup takes more time.
