ROTATING A TEAM OF 9
I am about to take my netball team to the NSW State Age Championships where they will be playing around 19 games over 3 days. Does anyone have any tips and suggestions about nutrition and fluid intake? Cheers.
Hi I am a first year coach of a 9 and under team.My girls are struggling with the concept of running to space and receiving a pass on the move while advancing the ball to our attacking third. It seems no matter how hard i try to implement drills for passing at practice, come game day the girls still group together and call for the ball standing still. Any ideas/drills anyone could suggest would be greatly appreciated. Regards Mark
Game 3 this week and now down to 5 players with the GS GK C out with hand/arm injuries. I still expect all players to turn up to practice.Only 3/8 turned up last week and I wasn't very happy.Others need to fill gaps these players could help. Now I need to rethink training.now that I have requested everyone come, what drills can I do that are ball less.Unfortunately due to age and high visibility of the courts at lunch asking them to visualise would not happen. They are young and I don't want to jeopardise healing for them. It is a shame this has happened early in season as I do think we had an opportunity to do really well, never mind. Always next year
How to get players to think about position on court and timing
Recently took girls to a tournament and a team were spraying the soles of their shoes with something - couldn't see what. I know some people use hairspray, but is there a product that you can get in the UK that enhances trainer grip on court? Couldn't find anything on the internet, but if there are any links to products I would appreciate it! Thanks
Hi, i am predominantly a U12yrs coach but i want to transition in to coaching the high school girls. I love all these drills and session plans and have found them very helpful, but i am looking now for information on strategies used in netball eg/strategic positioning of players when changing from attacking to suddenly defending after a turnover, or when should the GA drop back . when to use a zone defence or side-on defence. All these questions that aren't covered by drills. Is there somewhere to get this info or is it just learn as u go. Thank you
My junior squads tend to ask for a ball to be passed to them, even when there is a defender nearby-often resulting in interceptions. I have tried playing bounce pass only games which works really well, just wondered if anyone had any other ideas I could try ?
Hi all, My daughter is about to start coaching for the first time and it's expected she'll have a group of 10 years olds in C or D grade. I'm struggling to remember what her capabilities were at that age and she's looking for some suggestions for drills to start off with until she gets a handle on where they're at. Is anyone currently working with kids around that age/ability bracket? Does anyone know if any of the weekly drills are aimed at beginners/introductory levels? From the ones I'm seen, they're aimed at an intermediate level so I'm assuming some of the games would be OK, but most of the drills would be beyond their capability. Thanks in advance.
The over night we were playing and the opposing team threw the ball over the centre third . The ball wasn't touched or received in this third, however it did bounce in the third. The upmire played on as it had bounced. Is this correct ?
Hi there, I coach an under 10 netball team and have rotated the team fairly throughout the season. We have now qualified for finals and am wondering if I should play my strongest team?
How to defend a holding shooter
What easy drills can be used for 10 year olds as I have never coached before. I would like to have some fun games as well if anyone has some easy ones. Throwing skills are needing attention as well.
what's a game that grade 5 6 students will like. it's really hard to come up with games that is teaching them netball and also is fun. one of my coaching partners plays netball but she doesn't really give me any ideas. i don't think they play games at the club she is at. Can you please give some ideas of a game that is fun and easy to teach.Thankyou!!!!
I've just recovered form an ankle injury after 4 weeks without any netball. i was wondering how i should get back to netball, because i often find myself wondering if i will still be good at attacking and defending and all the other things you need as a player. Should i take it easy on the first week of training? What if i'm not good enough for the games we have on Saturday??
Trying to get girls to jump for rebounds, intercepts.Girls who are tall and rely on reach instead of leaving the ground?

I have a 13 yr girl in my team who has broken her wrist the last two sessions.(one on the court, one off) What is the rule regarding her wearing a wrist guard during the game? THe first game of the session, last week, the umpire wasnt going to let her on, but the other team allowed it.
