I have been intrigued by some anecdotes of a coach using tennis balls in a session âthat did not pick up a stick for an hourâ. It developed hand brain and eye co-ordination and went on to give the feel of the movement of shoulders and hips for the Indian dribble, or at least moving a ball in a figure of 8â¦anyone heard of this or am I the victim of a wind up? It sounded great and a novel way to ring some changes in a junior session.
There was a session I missed called Assess your new junior players session - does anyone know when this will be available again, or has a copy of that or anything similar? Thanks
Any sessions for junior keepers would be appreciated. I started keeping at 40 and though I know the things I hated in training ... ie let us all come and kill the keeper, I need help putting together a session or two specifically geared at our under 13 keepers, and an extremely talented under 15 one.
In one of your weekly email, Sportplan advertised a Junior 10 week Hockey Session Plan, is this still available and if so, where can I download this from please?? I need the plan to suit various skill levels of players as we've got a mixed ability of players to coach in the session.
Can anyone please help me with a full training program for mini hockey for 6 weeks. The kidz are in Grade 2(8 yrs old), practise 2 a week for 45 min and play league games 1 a week.
I have recently taken on the role involving coaching junior hockey players (aged 10-13) who mostly have never played hockey before, and are very uninterested. Their basics are not good enough to play some games. How do I motivate them, and what kind of things shall I do in my session?

I really struggle to make practice fun and useful for the GKs. My attention is naturally focussed on the outfield players, meaning most of the time I simply have drills finishing with a shot on goal to keep the GK involved. Pretty boring for them. Any ideas how I can involve them more? Thanks, Charlie

Wow what a great website, I have found sportplan an important tool for me when planning my netball sessions with my netball team. There are alot of very helpful tips/ideas/skills that I can learn and teach to my team. I have been using Sportplan now for 3 years and can honestly say that I have never repeated the same session twice. My girls are always focused and are improving every year. Thanks Sportplan.
What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
I can't get enough of the Sportplan, It has given me back the enthusiasm i was starting to lose. My girls are so keen and are ready at 14 to take the next up in their game. Sportplan will help no end.
