Hi Goal,
To help GA and WA receive the ball efficiently, you can focus on drills that emphasize movement, timing, and positioning. Here are a few recommended drills:
Overload Variation: This drill involves WA and GA being in a staggered position to ensure they cross the line at different times, providing staggered offers for the ball. WA should aim to receive the ball on the circle edge, making it easier to pass into the circle.
Screen Set-Up: The WA should time their move perfectly to deceive the defense. The GA should hold their position until the defender is on their back before flipping out to receive the ball.
WA/GA Cross: This involves WA and GA setting up centrally and crossing over to each other's side to receive the ball, ensuring at least two offers for the ball.
GA Receive: Both WA and GA start in a staggered position, offering for the center pass. GA receives the ball first, and WA drives deep to receive the second phase ball.
These drills will help improve their efficiency in receiving the ball during gameplay. You can find more details and visual aids for these drills on Sportplan.
Best of luck with your coaching!
