My team are a bunch of very strong girls, however they always start a game slow. Only leading by 1 or two. After the first quarter they seem to have settled and will normally win by a large gap. I make sure they warm up properly including landing skills, sprints, ball work and half court but yet nothing seems to get them playing their game from the off set? Any ideas?
Hi Mia,
This is always a tricky one and some of my players also struggle to get started. It sounds like you are warming them up well, I found that dedicating more time to half court and match-related games during the warm up helped my team get in the right frame of mind from the off-set.
I`ve attached one of our favourite drills for you!
