Hi Matovu,
You can choose to play whichever formation suits your team best. The key to driving the ball forward, isn`t dependent on formation but more on the intensity of your players movement and passes. If they can pass and drive with purpose and precision this will help your team be more effective at driving the ball to the shooting area. Practising this in training will help your team deliver this in matches. Here`s a great drill to practice that.

Diamond Driving
DESCRIPTION
Set Up: Two balls, four cones, 4-6 players. Cones set up as a diamond, the two feeders opposite each other with a ball each. Two players in the middle as attackers/receivers. Attackers use âlittle feetâ to move around the other attacker in the middle. Attackers then split and drive to the outside cones. Feeders deliver a ball into the middle of the diamond. Attackers receive the pass from their right and move around the other attacker with ball in hand to deliver the ball to the opposite feeder.
