First defender (yellow) drives into pad held by coach. Coach calls out 'get low, keep eyes up, split the attacker'.
Coach drives defender to the ground.
On hit, second blue player throws ball somewhere near the defender on the ground behind the pad carrier to simulate loose ball.
Defender gets onto feet, picks up the loose ball, runs past pad and passes back to second blue player.
Progression: Ball in front of pad carrier, defender now has to jump up, get back around and come through the gate to get the loose ball.
Maintain high tempo, as soon as the yellow player passes the ball to the blue ball carrier the next defender begins their run
