When you have the ball, only one of your feet can leave the spot you land on. The other you can pivot with to manoeuvre to a more advantageous position.
Drill: working in pairs, player 1 pass the ball to player 2 using an appropriate pass. Player 2 should catch the ball and land on two feet. Player 1 should move to another position on the court once passed, so player 2 has to use footwork rule to make the pass. Repeat several times to reinforce the rule.
Teacher should look for: successful pivoting, use of the 3 passes learned previously, engaging with core muscles for balance and power when passing.
