I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
I am coaching an under 9As netball team in their first year of competition. I have 6 experienced players and 3 new players who have never played before. There are 9 in the team so there will always be 2 reserves. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or advice as to how to organise/rotate the players each week so they each have their turn off. The girls need to have equal time on the court. I also don't want to disrupt their teamwork and want to keep the team as strong as possible at all times. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

How to do a roster to rotate 10 netball players
Hi, I am coaching a group of 10yr old girls who majority have never played netball before. Am I better to rotate them in positions or let them get use to the ones that I allocate them too.. Also what are some good drills that I can teach them Defence or Attack... I have taught them the basics of passing, shooting but need help on alot of other drills... We only have training once a week in which I find hard because I believe they need more training days and we only have 2 training sessions to go till the season starts. Could you please give me some helpful ideas to help my girls understand netball and how to play netball without me having to put the pressure on them like as if I was coaching under 16s or something...

I have 10 players and need to roster them equally, does anyone have a formula
I have a team of mixed age girls from year 4 to year 5. 7 of the players are playing together for 2nd or 3rd season together with 2 of these players having low ball and motor skills. 3 of the players are in their first year, 1 of which demonstrates good ball and motor skills, the other two with beginner skills. What is the best way to rotate the players for games to ensure they are all developing? The section we are playing in does not require mandatory position changes at half time, although I have been doing this to develop their overall skills, is this right? Thanks in advance, Mel
We have 11 games left of the season and 10 girls to give an even rotation to.

How do you make the games fair for all players, advice received was to roster 1 off every week however our coach doesn't want to do that.

How do you fairly and evenly manage a team with 10 players without offending and upsetting people? How do you compile a roster or game plan to accomodate everyone, and what can you do to avoid upset around finals time?
Is there spreadsheet for rotating 10 players?

My associate coach and I disagree on whether U/10s should play different positions or focus/settle on one, maybe two. I don't want to put the girls in a box at such a young age but I also don't want a Jack of all Trades situation. They are still developing so much that I feel I'll be doing them a disservice by just putting them in the same position every week. The assistant coach says if we move them around we're not going to do as well but that is where the participation vs performance comes in for me. Surely at this age development is more important than winning? No coach likes to lose but I don't want to win at the expense of them experiencing different positions. What do you guys suggest? 9 players - 4 girls off half a game each week or 2 players off per quarter? I coach a 10 yrs team in a very close A grade competition. There are 9 players therefore 2 reserves are needed each quarter. Is it best to have 4 girls off for half a game each week, less disruption to team but best players are then off for half a game - girls are off every second week, or 2 girls off each quarter, more disruption but best players are only off for quarter of a game, girls are off every week. I am required to give all players equal time on the court throughout the season. Thank you.
