what to talk about with girls on first practice
there is lot you can discuss, but the basics are tell them a little about you, your coaching experience, your netball history, why you want to coach and how much you are looking forward to the year.
then discuss about what your expectations are in relation to
attitude, attendance, effort, respect for team and training ect.
Give them any rules you have regarding, footwear, training gear, jewellery, time you expect them to be at training and games by, who to call if unable to play, what the consequences are if they don`t follow the rules or don`t meet your expectations.
Ask them each about themselves. how long they have playing, why they love netball, what they want to get out of the year.
Something along those lines.
Hope that helps.
in more ways than one
Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
