I am asking this question because every time I do netball everyone in my team always expect me to have an perfect shoot but I always miss just because I am good basketball that doesn't mean I am good at netball
Hi Ayomide,
I can understand your frustration, as shooting in basketball and netball have very different techniques. I have attached a video below that explains the perfect shooting technique - the video also contains audio description so you will be to also hear the description. The most important steps to consider when shooting is to have your feet shoulder width apart, facing the post, you should bend your knees as you take the shot to generate power and flick through with your wrist. Unlike in basketball, you do not have a backboard and therefore you should take your time and focus on the shot. Some people like to imagine a `witches hat` on top of the post - this analogy helps players remember their shot should go up (to the top of the witches hat) and sink into the post.
Good luck with your shooting, I hope this helps.
