should 6-8 year olds be doing dynamic stretching during warm up and cool down stages? If so has anyone got any ideas or techniques?
i don't believe you can simply say no to the idea of any age group doing dynamic stretches but I would be making sure that it doesn't completly replace a jog and static stretches. Use the dynamic stretches more as a fun way to get the girls use to the feel of the ball in their hands. one basic drill we do to get the girls thinking of holding the ball is they all line up behind each other and start by passing ball overhead to next in line (Stretches arms), then pass ball between knees (Back), then in S pattern around waist (back). Then to get them concentrating make patterns of up, down left & right. As players improve you can do this on the move. Good luck.
