what should i do to make them better
go back to basics. are their eyes actually following the ball all the way to their hands? are their hands taking the ball from its flight or are they waiting for the ball to reach their hands? are they using their fingers to secure the ball once it reaches the palm of their hand or is the ball just bouncing back out once it reaches them? are they balanced when catching? is the pass to hard for them at this point in time? are their hands in the right shape in order to catch? are they scared of the ball? it depends on which one/s of these are the issue, and it may be a different reason for different players. so in order to fix the problem you must first work out what exactly the problem is. once you have worked out the why are they having trouble catching, let me know and i will be able to find a way to help or i bet now that you know for some of the reason that could attribute to poor catching you will be able to work out a way to fix it yourself.
in more ways than one
Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
