im completing an assingment and need help. I need to use components of fitness to improve playing in defence through drills.
defence work is all about footwork. so anything that teaches fast feet, drills for quick reflexes, and jumping for intercepts and rebounds are all fitness based skills, that are related to defence.
You probably have your assignment in by now and would hate to throw another element in to the mix at late stage, a major component of playing defense is the ability to read and predict future play options. How high do they need to jump and timing judgement to get the tip, how fast or slow they need to run change pace to get that intercept etc. Drills that involve catching, throwing, stepping alternatively between right and left side of body with some center body overlap to engage both right and left sides of brain. Good luck on your assignment
