how can i get in front of the attacker better from starting off on their centre.
be really epic :)
Hiya - Assuming your the opposing centre, its very seldom you'll intercept ot stop a centre pass at a reset so dont focus so much on that, but rather focus after the pass has gone. I.e shut down the 2nd phase ball, so 1 option is with your GD or WD, double up on whoever is first reciever ie their WA or GA or you can defend the C after the centre pass to shut her down as an option. Most of the pressure is usually applied aftrr the centre pass to allow the defence to set up. Hope that helps.

Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
