I have to coach year 6's but the drills I use, they are getting bored by! What could I do?

mix it up a bit. some drills will be boring and not much you can do about it, but if you make things competitive then they have something else to concentrate on. I had a footwork drill that I used and broke the group into 2 and the two groups competed to complete the drill the fastest. You do have to put in boundaries to say that they weren`t allowed to touch the cones and if they did they had to go back to the beginning so that they not only had to do it quickly but correctly. They loved that. Also a zig zag passing drill where the girls had to pass the ball down the line in a zig zag pattern. Add in the fact that it was now a hot potato and were only allowed to hold it for 1 second and then add in another ball that went around the perimeter of the line (i.e. passing it down the line instead of zig zag) and then the girls had to think about the pass when they could see one person was going to have to catch to balls at the same time. they had to either hold it for a second or pass over them. its about getting creative with the drills you have.
Good luck.
