I dont know about any one else but at our club we have had gils who are keen to play netball starting at 6 years old. some of them cant quite grasp the game of netball high fives or even 1st step netball but they enjoy interacting with the other girls and enjoy the skills and drills. it just needs pitching at them in the right way, the nets are lowered and shooting stances, passing, catching and movement skills can all be tought if the child is willing and the coach has the patience and the knowledge to make training fun. by playing tag games, shooting games, movement games etc. its not all about the actual game of netball but working on basic skills and helping the players to enjoy the experiance.
