What counts as a replay ball?

What counts as a replay ball?

I’m starting my second year of umpiring but I’ve never fully understood what counts as a “Replay ball” specifically, how many times does a player bounce the ball with one hand for it to count as replay ball, or if a player puts down the ball how many seconds before they can pick it back up if they can? Because I’ve seen players on court do that.
