Under 12's rep coach

Under 12's rep coach

Hi guys. So I've been coaching for 3 years. The same bunch of girls since they were 7-8 years old. I'm coaching then again this year which is great. But I've also just been approached in coaching the under 12's development rep team. Just wondering what I'm in for, as I haven't been given a lot of information as yet.

hey congratulations. coaching the development team is a great start as there isn`t a lot of pressure on you to perform. It isn`t a lot different from coaching a club team except you have a lot more motivated players as they have been selected to play in the team. The harder part is that that this is the first year that any of the girls will have played in a rep team, so you could have issues with parents who believe their daughter is the next diamond superstar. You experience will depend if your association supports and communicates well or not. Just do your best, watch the other coaches to see what they are doing and to see how the association wants their coaches to coach, and have open and honest communication with your team and you will be fine. Have a great year.
