My girls all huddle up rather than spread out. It is so frustrating. HOw do you teach them to spread out for the ball and keep in their side of the court. Any drills you can direct me to? It is also about getting free. They to lob passes rather than flat passes.
the other part of your question is to do with passing. if they are doing lob (which is more than likely they are doing what most of us call "rainbow" passes rather than flat shoulder passes, then spend more time on teaching them the correct techniqe on a flat pass. most kids dont finish the pass with their fingers pushing the ball to the receiver, they just use the palm of their hand, and their wrist is therefore not being used correctly. have a search for the correct technique in teaching a shoulder pass and break it down into drills for them, and you will quicly see a huge difference in their passing.
a lot coaches like to teach "channels" to help teach players to not bunch up. there are lots of discriptions and drills on previous questions on how to coach this, so do a search on Channels and see what you come up with. is a great tool on teaching finding space and not bunching.
