how best to deal with a member of the group that is more talented than the rest
Hi Sarah,
I suppose it depends on the attitude of said more talented person, if the person is arrogant and condescending, the best way would to treat your players all equally.
Also, encouragement to do better and work harder is always good, just because your player is better than the others doesn`t mean that she shouldn`t to be a better player. Encourage the others as well, but don`t compare your players in general, because everyone develops and latches onto things at a different pace and each player has a unique skill set that can be used throughout training and games alike.
But of course if the person was better, if there is an option to, why don`t you just move the player up a team or level?
Make them captain and if she doesn't want to excercise being a leader as the more experienced player to bring the others up, she may as well move up otherwise she'll never get the development she deserves.
