Hi All! Just started the ball rolling in my town to start a team and looking for any advice/tips that will help along the way? Thanks
just have fun. don't take it too seriously, and have realistic expectations. most adults aren't that interested in training, and aren't great at taking advice. so think about what your goal is for the team (ie fun and exercise, or more serious), and choice women that are interested in the same type of team.
Hi Lauren, Whereabouts in the UK are you? Depending on your location there may be a local Fun League that you may look at entering your team into...I am in Gloucestershire and we have a thriving Fun league set up, split into Divisions to cater for all levels of teams. Alternatively , it would be worth checking your local County association website, as there are various `Back to Netball` sessions that are run for players looking to get back into playing netball and want some taster sessions first, or for those who maybe have never played before and want a gentle introduction to the sport.
Hi Tony,
We are based in Whitchurch, Hampshire. Love the idea of a fun league and definatly something i am keen to look into. We are learning as we go but the ladies we have are commited and keen to progress to a Game level .
Thanks
Hi Lauren,
I have had a quick look at your county website Hampshire netball and there are a number of leagues in the county , it looks like Basingstoke netball league would be the applicable area for you , and they run five leagues , so you should find a level that suits you all.......GO FOR IT ! .....and Good luck !
Tony
