Seeking advice on defending - intercepting bounce passes in the circle.

Hi, Would like some advice as to how to defend or intercept bounce passes in the circle.  Thank you.  Anne

Assuming your player is in the correct defensive position and posture the simplest thing is to lower the hand nearest to where the defender thinks the ball will go nearer to the ground. The best way to stop the bounce pass is to make the attacker think that they are going to attempt it and hence they will not try it. If you are playing with adults and skilled players then the low bounce which is nearly a "roll" into the circle has to be stopped by the defender holding a strong position in front or on a 45 degree angle to the attacker. Again you are trying to suggest to the player with the ball you know what they are trying to do. With little girls, practicing when they KNOW the ball will be bounced in makes it a lot easier for them to learn what they have to do to get their hands down. If the attack wants to try this from baseline restarts the dropped hand at an angle is very effective while keeping the other other arm high.
