How do i stop my players from being too obvious when they pass the ball. They are basically giving the other team the intercept
Being obvious is okay, its tricky to stop this depending on how young your girls are. I would say don't tell them to stop being obvious, just maybe practice some drills with making decisions and passing the ball quickly, if your girls are ahead of the play, you shouldn't have to worry about being too obvious!
Hope this helps, best of luck!!!
Thanks, that helps a lot!
Depending on the age and skill level of your team there are a couple of useful skills you can incorporate into training e.g. (1) fake passing and (2) look one way but pass another(eye deception). Good balance and footwork are needed for these to be executed effectively and developing peripheral vision will also help. You can do some simple moving passing drills to practice catching ball, small dummy pass to fool defender and then pass to target. A good way to analyse the technique and footwork is to watch the players on TV who use a fake pass at almost every possession.
in more ways than one
The early 'shoot from anywhere' era is over. Smart teams now use data-driven decision models to decide when the two-pointer is worth it.

No more 50/50 toss-ups. When simultaneous infringements occur, possession now goes to the team that last had the ball. Here's what it means for your coaching.
