What is the rule and penalties for when a player crosses into the wrong area?

Hi Saheli,

If a player crosses into the wrong area, it results in an offside violation. The opposing team is awarded a free pass or penalty pass, depending on the location of the violation. The player who was offside must return to the correct area before they can participate in the game.
