Hi, I play netball frequently, but I am trying out for some new teams and I want to know of some good one player netball drills. I have a wall I use and a hoop. I don't really want to use the ring as much because I wanted to trial as a centre player, but anything is helpful.
concentrate on footwork drills, getting good elavation (jumping) to catch or intercept, and fitness. there are some good cone drills for footwork in here, and have a look at other sports like maybe soccer that use a lot of running and jumping as well as footwork. i would have said go train with an AFL (australian rules football) as they get great elavation, but not really going to find to many of them over in the states...lol
didnt realise that you could play netball in america. cool.
Even though you want to trial as a centre player, the hoop can be helpful to use. Catching rebounds off a hoop is good for ball skills and footwork skills as it can be unpredictable which way the ball flies off the hoop and gets you catching practice for different types of "throws". It can also help with jumping skills if you try and jump to get each rebound and not just wait to catch it.
in more ways than one
