What drills are best to teach little kids to spread out and find space?

After receiver 1 goes to the box then re enters, player 2 with the ball doesn`t have to pass to player 1 (that has entered in again) do they? In other words can the player offer the ball to another team player? Otherwise you would have the same player going in and out of the box.
