Is there any software where I can feed in players names, the positions they prefer to play in order/won't play and it will create a play list for me for 3 sessions rotating the players around to try and accomodate their favourite position(s)?I'm currently using post-it notes on a court plan which is quite fiddly and time consuming.Any suggestions would be welcome. We usually have 10 players over 3 thirds to plan with.
Hi Marie,
I`m not aware of any specific software although there does seem to be a couple of iPad apps available on the Apple App Store. Having not used any, and not being prepared to pay for them I can`t really comment on whether they are any good.
I use an excel spreadsheet where I record (and plan) playing positions each week. I have some formulas in columns that use the COUNTIF function to keep a count of the number of times a player has played in a particular position. Actually selecting which player is going to be in which position is very manual though.
I did some Google searches and their seem to be some Excel templates around to download, but they mostly seem to be empty pages to gather stats and record positions on.
Not sure if that helps or not.
Cheers,
Simon
