I have changed GS to GD. What is the best way to teach her the basics of the new position?
Hey, ask her to remember how the GD defended her while she tried to shoot. Tell her to think about what they did and try to the same. If she can't remember, just go back to the basics. Teach her to stay with the shooter at all times (a method I have found useful with my younger girls is pretedning your glued to the GA) and stop and put her hands up when ever the GA turns to shoot. I also find it useful to teach them to use the off arm if you understand what that means. Best of luck %3A)

Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
