I hav the top div team under 12s and have a new player who has not played before, how can I bring up her skill level ? She will be playing WA GS

A couple years ago i had the div 2 U12s and most were rep players or potential rep players. I had 1 new player who had never played before but was a natural athlete and hap played a number of different sports. Im assuming that since she is selected to be in the top team she has natural sporting skills, so she will probably pick up many of the basics quite quickly it will just be the rules, and strategies. Just do your normal drills and skills and it may just take an extra moment for you to give a little extra coaching but I would assume she will pick most skills up very quickly.
So don`t worry too much and just do what you normally would do and I`m sure she will fit right in.
in more ways than one
Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
