how do I get my girls to defend tall players. We are playing a team tomorrow in the grand final and they are all so tall the ball just goes over my girls head??.

Hi Sharon
You should try to defend them from behind as you will never be able to intercept the passes/shots but you can make it difficult for them to pass and shoot from a distance. The idea is that your defence player blocks/zones them as high up on the pitch as they can so that they can not get their position to complete an easy pass. The best way to do this is for your players to position their body behind their opponent and stop their movement towards the goal or up the pitch as they would have to contact your player to move closer. Also you want to make the pass or shot as difficult as possible for them. This is a good drill to use to practice that.
