Young girls are so easily distracted and it is impacting alot on how they play. How do I stop this?
Keep the drills age appropriate and short. Keep progressing the skill so they don't feel like doing the same activity again. I also like to add a bit of competition to training. Bribery also helps!
how young are we talking Emily? as its quite normal for young girls to not concentrate and get bored during a game as their attention spans are quite short. try and have realistic expectations, as unless they are constantly being stimiulated and challenged then girls under 10ish (and there are exceptions to this) are likely to not be too focused unless they have the ball in their hands. during training its pretty much like Amy said, lots of fun and energy with challenging and fun drills, that you can make competive. during games, lots of talking and encouragement from yourself and parents from the sidelines will help them too.

Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
