Hi, I have a lady in my team who keeps getting pulled up for footwork (dragging)! i cant get to many matches and she doesnt do it in training, i videoed a game to see what the problem was and it seems that she has a very wide landing stance when on the run, almost as if she needs to take another step, ive tried to encourage her (and done a drill) to land on outside feet and small step footwork patterns etc but nothing seems to be working! Has anyone ever had the same problem?! Any ideas?!?!

Hi Sarah I have used a hurdle in footwork drills getting the players to drive over the hurdle landing with a 1 2 landing and then releasing the ball to the passer. I get the passer to change positions from in front to the sides. A saying in my team is Right hand, right foot, right pivot away, same with left hand, left foot, left pivot away. This means that if you take the ball with your right hand you must land on your right foot first ( 1 2 landing) and then pivot to your right away from your def. Hope this helps. Joanne

No more 50/50 toss-ups. When simultaneous infringements occur, possession now goes to the team that last had the ball. Here's what it means for your coaching.
Train your defenders to win clean turnovers, not just disrupt. The difference between good defenders and great ones is taking the ball, not just touching it.
