How to deal with players and parents who dont get much game time during finals. With 12 players (5 excellent) in a competitive u12 s team. Playing the stongest and mixing 2/3 positions between 7/8 players.
Hi Natalie,
It can always be difficult for a coach in regards to allocating court time. Of course any coach wants to win but the players also want court time too. I would advise speaking to your team/their parents and explaining that there may be variations between players game time, depending on how they are playing on the day. One of your best players may have a poor day and may have to sit off.
Try playing you weaker players during easier matches so they all get court time. This will allow you to keep your stronger players for the final.
Hope this helps.

Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
