Need some quick easy netball drills for year 4 kids
When coaching such a young team, i suggest you do not imply drills as said. Do more games and things that will help skills. A game like Rob the nest, rats and rabbits, fox and geese, etc. Kids dont want to do drills and wont listen if theyre not interested. I highly suggest games based on different skills.

I`d love to see any training plans too. This is my first attempt at coaching (no one else put their hand up!), and I need all the help I can get. I have a team of 8 y.o.s. Thanks in advance!
you can do drills with young kids, but you need to find a way to make it fun or competitive. i like to make competitions between 2 teams, or see if the group can improve their last time to complete the drill, or the winner of the drill gets to choose the next activity. drills are a necessary part of learning a sport, but the key is putting a spin on it to get them to think they aren`t doing drills.
in more ways than one
Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
