Does anyone have drills for working on elevation. My girls are Year 7 and 8's - 11 and 12 year olds. Getting their legs stronger for jumping???
I find using a skipping rope works well for getting girls to jump. Have a long rope - girls must run in jump twice then run out.
Phase two - player runs in and must catch a pass and throw it back while making the jump then run out.

This isn't really a drill but i do this with my girls and they improved dramatically. If you have a wall get them to do jump taps and try to reach a particular height on the wall. We do 20 on each side and then 20 using two hands.
You can also get them to jump using two hand and try and touch the net on the goal post. At first they may feel like they are miles off but if you do the jump taps every week hopefully they will get closer.
Also work on strength in their ankles by doing single leg raises. This helps with the power of the jump.
Hope this helps! Goodluck!

No more 50/50 toss-ups. When simultaneous infringements occur, possession now goes to the team that last had the ball. Here's what it means for your coaching.
