Different skill levels in one team

I've coached 5 girls from my netta team for 1 year already they are extremely advanced (hardly stepping, intercepting, not bunching and shadow defending) however I have 4 girls in my team that have never played before joining. Any ideas on how to teach the basics but not boar the other girls?

i had a team like this a few years ago...4 strong players who had come from Netta and 6 first time players in and U11C team. Yes it is hard to keep them all progressing but it is possible. Your 5 strong players will not progress as much if they had a team of experienced players, but they will progress if you use their skill with your newbies i.e. have a newbie and an experience player working together, as well having drills where the experienced players work together while you progress the newbies. Like if you are working on passing warm up drills, you might start off a newbie passing with an experienced player, but then mix the team up and have newbies passing between each other and progress the other girls with stronger or longer passes. the newer players will eventually catch up with that. Same goes with defence drills. start with them all working together and then you can take the more experienced players aside and extend them, while you are refining the newbies. Its all about picking drills that will challenge them all and then extending those who are ready to move on. This is no different any team really. If you are really concerned you could also have an extra training session for those girls to ensure they are not being held back. In the team I had those 4 girls went on to be selected in representative netball the year after so they weren`t being held back too much that year.

Good luck.
