how can I use a bounce pass effectively in a game?
Hi Jessica,
The bounce pass can be best used for getting past opponents who may likely intercept your pass, so taller players for example. You need to be able to make the correct decisions at the right time, so you can catch your opposition unaware! The bounce pass can enable you to pass the ball to a team-mate in restricted space, by weaving the ball past a defender`s legs.
Also use the bounce pass to provide some variation to your game, so that your play doesn`t become predictable to the opposition and therefore less likely to intercept!
Hope that helps!
a good bounce pass can be used, but it isnt one that is often used as it can be easily intercepted or spoiled. but a good bounce pass is passed across the body (ie from the right side of one player to the right side of the other person) about 2/3 of the distance between the two players with the person stepping forward onto the left leg and then the ball being passed from the right hand bending low and moving the ball around the defending person. practising the pass to get it right is important. the ball should bounce hip height to where the person is catching the ball. once the pass is correct then practise with defence. the pass is normally done withine or to someone in the circle, but can be done anywhere, but must be used with caution.
