Ball girls & boys in televised games

Ball girls & boys in televised games

Why are they on their knees not standing up the back as in other sports and we all know they would be quicker if they are standing. I also think they are in the wrong place as they only pick up balls that go over the advertising hoardings so they should be standing further back where the mascot is allowed to stand (swifts, firebirds game).
