As a general set up, once the whistle has gone for out of court, the WD positions herself diagonally opposite the GK on the circle edge (edging towards the middle more then the goal line), and the GD positions inside the circle the same side as the GK. With this, the C clears out into the centre third and only comes in for the ball on the last second if needed.
