Any drills to get girls to run forward for passes, ie not stand behind players?
The one i use with my 10s is play 4 a side (or how ever many you have) and use a half court - you can't pass the ball to your team mate unless they are in front of their defender if you pass it when they are behind their defender then it becomes the opposition's ball.
Put players into 2even teams, working in Midcourt.1 team with bibs, others without. Tell all players passes only given when driving towards ball,or ball will be given to other side.Or line team up infront of you, one at time get them to drive for front chest pass. Individually they can use wall and practive passing to themselves, this will show them how hard or slow their own passes are and gets them to be bit more confident with their own passes.
Hi Lesley and Morehu, Thank you for your suggested drills, they are appreciated and sound great. I will be trying your drills tomorrow afternoon at training.
in more ways than one
