Far jump shot

Players stand in line and take it in turns to pass to the feeder (blue 1) and then run forwards to move onto the return pass. Players should look to catch the ball near the 7meter line and take off before the edge of the goal area line on their strong foot. Run around Race - Jump Shooting

On the coach's call an attacker and a defender both set off and run around the cone. The defender is trying to get around the cone quicker than the attacker so that they can get in front of them and hinder their shot (no tackling). Once around the cone the attacker should aim to get a jump shot off on goal. Variations: 3 step rythm (right handers : left,right,left and left handers : right,left,right) 2 step or even in 1 step jumping off : left handers : right foot, right handers : left foot jump off with your 'wrong' foot (1,2,3 steps)

Feint and throw at the goal

Players line  up a few meters behind the 7 meter line where a cone is placed on the floor. The wide player (blue 2) passes the ball to the player waiting in line who then runs forward to the cone. When they reach the cone players should be slightly to the left or the right of the cone. Before being allowed to shoot players must 'get past the cone' using an effective dummy, cutting around the other side of the cone before shooting. variations : - 3 step rythm (right handers : left,right,left and left handers : right,left,right) - 2 step or even in 1 step - jumping off : left handers : right foot, right handers : left foot - jump off with your 'wrong' foot (1,2,3 steps)

Teams try to throw ball against the other team's benches They have to use their jump shot to find a space and throw past the opposite team who are trying to protect their benches.

Jump shot with Fake

Players dribble forward with the ball and must feint to get past the defender and throw at the goal.

Jump shot with pressure

Dribbling the ball, players take it in turns to run forward to the defender. When they get close (around 2-1 meters away) they should jump off, in front of the defender, and throw at the goal. Defender must try and block the shot.

Jumpshot aiming game

Players come from behind the trainer and throw at one of the mats. There are several mats on the floor. Mats furher away are more difficult to hit and get more points when hit. Variations: - trainer calls just befor the players throws a number of the mat they should aim at. - playing in two teams to gather as many point as possible in 3 minutes.

The Far Jump Shot

As players run up to where they are going to throw from they should bring the ball up to shoulder height. The first step in the 1-2-3 pattern should be made with the foot they are going to jump with (so for right handed players this should be their left foot and for left-handed players vice versa). The third step should be explosive and powerful. In the air player's hip should go backward at the same time and in the same direction as the throwing arm. Pull up other leg until upper leg is parallel with the other leg. Screw back the hip and the arm should follow this movement explosively to the front.
