DESCRIPTION

Procedure: 2 lines of players. Red player passes to Blue, then leads into the circle. Blue player carries the ball toward right wing, then plays a hit pass toward goal. Blue player can be required to get past a passive defender or obstacle (i.e. cone gate), giving Red player enough time to get into the box. Red player tries to score with one touch: either a slap, deflection or tip-in

COACHING POINTS

This drill is aimed at lower-level/intermediate juniors. Aim: To practice deflected/'tip-in' goals To get the ball into the box quickly and test the keeper Feedback: The hit into the box needs to be powerful and along the ground.
