DESCRIPTION

Back 4 & 3 Midfielders practice their outletting skills of passing, leading and receiving with an importance placed on quality of: timing of lead pass receive to do next thing Midfield movement to create back 5 Vary starting position of the ball withing the defensive third. Back 4 only Zone of defensive 16yds and within 5 yds of sideline.

COACHING POINTS

Fullback positioning on the 16 yard hit in order to pass forward, left and right. Dummy passes if necessary. Different passes Push Hit Slap Hit Reverse Stick Slide Overhead both long and short RFB to RH is short LFB to RH is long Pre-Scanning Receiving position in order to do the next thing (RH in front of Right Foot, LH in front of Left Foot (reverse stick) or right foot toward left foot (flat stick). Passes should where possible should Go out and then in Go in and then out Around in 3 passes (with a skip pass) RH makes a lead down the line to vacate a space and CH moves into that space. other defenders repsond. Attacking midfielders draw their players deeper so ball can be played to RH in advanced position. Awareness Communication
