GAME 1
One hand fight
Set up:
A 10m by 5m corridor. One ball.
How to play:
> Play 2 v 1. A ball carrier stands on one side of the corridor, a defender stands in the middle and another attacker stands on the far side.
> When you say go, the ball carrier has 5 seconds to enter the corridor. Once the ball carrier is in the corridor, the defender can move forward to close down the attacker.
> The ball carrier has a further 5 seconds to offload the ball, but cannot throw it over the defender.
> All passes must be one handed. If the defender fails to tackle the ball carrier, then it still has to be a one-handed pass.
> If ball is dropped or blocked or doesn’t make it out of the corridor, the defender wins a point. Otherwise the attackers win a point each if they complete a pass.
> Swap the starting ball carrier. Then rotate the defender. Add up the scores at the end of six goes.
Possible developments:
> For under 9s, the defender can only make contact below the shoulders and not on the ball.
> At under 10s and 11s, the attacker cannot hand off the tackler.
> Have more than one group in the corridor
