Flag rush is similar to ultimate flag but you are allowed to run. You will need goals for this game as that is how you score and can “shoot” at any point from anywhere. To start the game the team has to stand still throw the ball (similar setting to ultimate flag) to their teammate. They can then run with the ball and then try and score.
You can get a turnover by either intercepting the ball, the ball hitting the floor, tagging the runner, flag guarding, jumping whilst a runner or the runner stepping out of bounds. For each turnover the team with the ball has to stand still and throw the ball. The only time this is different is if you get an interception, then that player is automatically allowed to run. For a runner that slips and hits the ground they are not allowed to advance the ball further.
They will retain the ball but must throw the ball on the spot. For more advanced players you can implement a rule that if they try to intercept the ball but fail the runner will retain possession but have to throw the ball from that spot.
One of the most important rules due to safety is that around the goal there is a set of cones that are about 5 yards away in the shape of a circle. Within the circle you can only underarm throw the ball just so no one can throw the ball with a real amount of force.
For a shot to count the ball has to fully cross the goal line without touching the floor before getting in. It is rush goalie and the person defending the goal is the only person that is exempt from the interception attempt rule, they will be given the ball.
