The Wall Doubles Drills - Tenn...

4 players 2 at the net and 2 at the baseline. Coach feeds the ball in to the baseliners and the point is played out. The volleyers can hit anywhere, however the baseliners cannot hit to the same volleyer twice in a row. After 2 volleys the baseliners are then allowed to lob. The winner is the first team to 11 points, after this the teams swap over.

Player stands close to the wall and repeatedly hits backhand volleys at the wall, with the aim of the drill being that the ball does not touch the ground. This helps improve reaction times of players.

Player stands close to the wall on the balance platform. Player throws medicine ball off the ground into the wall. Player tries to keep balance all the time. This exercise is a great tool to improve many physical skills at the same time. Player can work on balance, strength and power during the warm up time.

Player uses TRX (facing the wall). Player stands on the right leg. Player performs lunge back with left leg while keeping the left leg in the air.

Warm up with TRX equipment Agi...

Players perform their regular warm up routines based on running, jump rope and dynamic stretching. Players rally together to warm up all strokes. Coach prepares specific exercises to start improving from the beginning: TRX squat drill: Player faces the wall, then maintaining the correct position (tension on the straps, straight upper body), performs a squat. To make it more difficult, the player should bring his/her feet closer to the wall. TRX row drill: Player faces the wall, then maintaining the correct position (tension on the straps, straight upper body) performs a rowing action. To make it more difficult, the player should bring his/her feet closer to the wall.

ABS Throw Overhead

Sit close to the wall and put feet up on the wall. Lift your upper body and start throwing the ball overhead against the wall. Player has to maintain straight upper body to make sure that core muscles are working all the time. On the other hand, player also works on shoulders while throwing the ball.

In And Out With The Wall

Player stands facing the wall and hits forehand volleys against the wall. After each hit, the player moves forward and closer to the wall. Once at the wall, the player continues to hit the ball against the wall but now moves back to their starting position. The aim is for the ball to not touch the floor.

Right Knee Up TRX

Player uses TRX (facing away from the wall). Player keeps right leg close to the wall. Player brings right knee up and forward. This exercise should be performed dynamically but coaches can do it slowly if they want to work on running technique.

Snap It Down

The player stands at quite a distance from the wall and hits only overhead forehand smashes against the wall. The player should aim to make the ball bounce as close to the wall as possible. This will help the ball bounce high ready for the next shot, with the player doing the same thing continuously.

Player imitates backhand in close stance while throw the ball against the wall.

Approacher moves forward plays backhand volley down the line while passer tries to pass cross-court; volleyer must cover the cross-court area and volley the ball into the open court.

Teacher feeds the ball, however the student must shout out when they are about to split step (which would be just before the teacher feeds the ball). Ball is hit to centre of court and student makes a low forehand volley to the target before returning to the line. Concentrate on stopping for split step and controlling the volley.

Players rally up and down the middle of the court, attempting to get the longest rally they can hitting beyond the service box.Racquets are placed in the net to force the players to hit with height, which will help them to get the depth they are looking for.Pairs of players can compete against each other's courts to see which pair gets the longest rally within a certain amount of time.

Players are effectively playing a game of touch-doubles, so the ball is fed in and the point played out within the service boxes, with the tramlines being out.Players must use touch and feel as no pace or power can be use to win the point. They can volley and the ball is allowed to bounce as in normal tennis.However, each player only has to look after their own service box quarter. Balls which land in their zone are the only ones they are responsible for retrieving. If they so wish, they can poach and intercept balls in the other players' box, but the player next to them is not going to cover their back and switch sides as in normal doubles.

3 cones are set behind the player. The player then takes one ball and using their left leg jumps back and places the ball on the cone. The player quickly recovers back and repeats this action for the other cones.

Get the player to stand on balance platforms in a close stance. The coach then throws a medicine ball to the backhand side. The player should then imitate a backhand by throwing the ball back to the coach.

The player stands in one corner of the court, with the coach on the opposite side of the baseline. The coach drops the ball from shoulder height and the player must sprint across the baseline and hit the ball, before returning to their starting position.

Players stand either side of the service line and face each other. One player acts as a mover, and the other as a shadower. The mover will move left and right across the service line, never backwards or forwards, and the shadower must keep up with their movements and follow them across the line.

Psychology in tennis HELP!!! I have a daughter who is an excellent player who only started playing tennis seriously last yr at the age of 13. She is a much better player than all the people she has completed against in matches but always loses due to over hitting and getting upset if the wrong call is made (which happens frequently due to how fast she hits and serves) do we need some sort of psychological help for this. what is the best way to get this... books, councilling ??? any help would be most appreciated thanks
