Hi all, At the end of this season we selected our rep teams in readiness for the next years competitions and to ensure that all girls had time to organise and commit to representative teams. We have played in a social league for a few weeks and will break for the Christmas period in two weeks time returning in mid February. I am keen to keep the girls active, and was wondering if anyone has documented an off season training plan as such. I would like to get the girls to concentrate on footwork , ( use of skipping rope) and fitness, as well as basic ball skills, but am not sure what expectations i should have with them ? They are all 14 yrs old.
Thanks in advance
Gary
I have a 15 rep side and the girls have completed a beep test and must ensure that they do not lose fitness over Christmas. They will have another beep test when training resumes at the beginning of next year. We have discussed as a team how they can ensure their fitness levels not not drop.
in more ways than one
The early 'shoot from anywhere' era is over. Smart teams now use data-driven decision models to decide when the two-pointer is worth it.
The short pass is being penalised more consistently in 2026. Here's how to train proper passing technique and eliminate hand-offs under pressure.
No more 50/50 toss-ups. When simultaneous infringements occur, possession now goes to the team that last had the ball. Here's what it means for your coaching.
