Our 13Bs keep falling asleep in quarter 3 and letting their opposition back into the game. Any tips to keep them sharp and focused? It's a close leader board so we need to find a way to push and rise above. Thanks

Hi Joanna, For most teams the third quarter is the `Championship quarter` so we make sure we put our best team on for that quarter. So, my suggestion is that you have your starting 7 on for quarter 3 and let the whole team know - `This is the championship quarter, this is the quarter we put our foot down.` This works for me with my 13/14Bs.
This is something that I have struggled with before. To overcome it, we decided that the 3rd quarter was going to be "our quarter" we would therefore, despite the scoreline, aim for a win in the 3rd quarter. Perhaps offer a reward at training for a 3rd quarter victory.

Thank you both. I will try these strategies. Much appreciated.

Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
